Research Club in association with the BBA department is organising Research Conclave Empowering Innovation: Navigating the Patent Ecosystem and Right to Information. The proposed conclave aims to address the identified knowledge gap in intellectual property rights (IPR), particularly focusing on patents. A structured survey among first and second-year BBA and CSE students highlighted that 70% of respondents lack awareness about patents and the filing process, while 65% expressed interest in understanding how IPR can protect innovations. Additionally, 80% showed a strong desire to explore patenting opportunities for their research and projects. Faculty observations further confirmed the need for better understanding of how IPR supports innovation management and business strategies.
The conclave will educate participants on the importance of patents, the legal and procedural frameworks of the filing process, and the strategic role of patents in securing competitive advantage. Attendees will gain practical knowledge to initiate patent applications and understand how patents contribute to business growth and product development. By fostering IP awareness and encouraging entrepreneurship, the event aims to empower students and faculty to protect their innovations and leverage IPR for long-term success.
